Chapter 2: The Story Begins, Part 2
When we last saw Jade Kazi, she was lamenting about never being popular, after a unpleasant day at school. Suddenly, a shining comet comes towards Jade, blinding her. When she wakes up, she discovers that she's in a out of the ordinary world with a different outfit on. The question is, where is she?
Jade walks towards the castle. All of a sudden, a young boy in a guard uniform appears. "Greetings, Jade Kazi.", the boy said. "H-how did you know my name?". Jade stammered, looking surprised and confused. "Her Majesty The Queen of Cheertopia asked me to find you." "What's Cheertopia?", Jade asks. "Well, Jade, the place you landed in is called Cheertopia. When a human like you comes here, they have on a very special garb when they arrive.", the guard boy explains. "So, that's why my clothes changed. But why am I here? Am I here to become popular?", Jade asked. The boy chuckled. "Oh, my. Aren't you a girl with many questions. For all of your answers, follow me." So that's what Jade did.
The castle looks so elegant inside, Jade thought. Suddenly, the guard boy stopped to a big door and opens it up. "This is the queen's throne room.", he says. "Wow!", Jade exclaims. "It's amazing!" The throne room looked beautiful with the shades of hot pink walls and white jewels on the walls. What was really astounding was the throne. The throne was cream-colored with a mauve backing. Suddenly, a beautiful woman with long, cotton candy blue hair wearing a rainbow colored dress with white gloves and a bejewled crown appeared.
"Oh, It's Her Majesty Queen Spectrum!", the guard boy exclaimed, bowing down. Jade curtsied, because the queen was a great ruler and Jade wanted to be respectful as possible. "Welcome to Cheertopia, Jade.", the queen said in a gentle voice. "I wanted to talk to you because Cheertopia needs your help. Jeremy, could you leave the room, please?" "Of course, Your Majesty.", Jeremy says, complying the queen's orders. As soon as he left, Jade asks, "Why am I here? What's the matter?" Queen Spectrum was silent for a second and then, she began. "Long ago, Cheertopia was a happy place, with laughter and peace. Then, a bunch of invaders called the Ferries came and took over the land. It was a sad time for the citizens, until one day a group called the Catgirl Cheerleaders came and saved us from the Ferries. Now, the Ferries want to take over not only Cheertopia, but now your world." Jade gasped. "That's terrible! They can't take over Earth!"
"Well, they can, Jade. That's why I want you to be a Catgirl Cheerleader, so that you can save Cheertopia and Earth.", Queen Spectrum says. Jade could not belive this. "So your going to make me do this alone, Queen Spectrum?", she asked. "Of course not. You will have friends to do it." She took something out of her pocket and gave it to Jade. The items she gave her were 6 colored touch screen cellphones.
One was red, the other one was blue, then green, yellow, pink and purple. How am I supposed to carry 6 cellphones?, Jade thought. Queen Spectrum must have read Jade's mind when she gave her a cat-shaped pouch. "One more thing I want to give you. If you ever want to come here again, use this.", the queen said, giving her a ruby red diary with a crescent on it. "All you have to say is, 'Take me to Cheertopia' and you'll be here in a snap. I'm counting on you, Jade Kazi." In a respectful and loud voice, Jade says, "I won't let you down, Your Queenliness." "Oh, and I almost forgot, if you want to go back home, you can open your diary, and say, 'Take me back home.'", The queen reminded Jade. "Ok, I'll try it. Take me back home!", Jade yelled. All of a sudden, a gust of strong wind swirled around Jade, causing her to close her eyes.
When she opened her eyes back, Jade was in her bedroom at her house, with her same dirty clothes back on. That was strange, Jade thought, looking at her new ruby red diary and her new pouch. Suddenly, there was a red light coming near Jade. The light came closer and closer until it revealed a fairy-type creature with cat ears and a tail. The fairy had on a cheerleader outfit with a crescent clip in her pink hair.
"Hey, Jade, what's up?", the fairy said in a high-pitched voice. Jade was startled, but she asked, "Who are you?" "Oh, my! I forgot my manners. My name is Rubia, the mascot for Catgirl Cheerleader Ruby. In other words, you!" "Me? Catgirl Cheerleader Ruby? Is that why I had on ruby red clothing in Cheertopia and a ruby red diary?", Jade asked Rubia. "Of course. According to legend, there are 9 squad members in the Catgirl Cheerleaders." "Then why are there 6 cellphones in my pouch?" "Hmm? Maybe Queen Spectrum gave you 6 for a starter Captain. Maybe, one day, we will find the others.", Rubia explained. She looked at Jade's dirty clothes.
"What happened here?" "I fell in a mud puddle when I was walking to school this morning. I was totally mortified when Stephanie and her clique came and laughed at me.", Jade said, flushing just thinking about it. "Well that's terrible, but I can fix this mess, lickity split, using my magic.", Rubia said, waving her hand. "1,2,3,4, dirty clothing, no more!" Suddenly, in a flash, Jade's clothes were clean again. "Wow, Rubia, that was amazing! What else can you do?" "Well, I can tell you about that Cheerphone you've got in that pouch you have." "Cheerphone? What's that?", Jade asked. "If you open the pouch and pick the red phone, I'll explain." So that's what Jade did. She unzipped the pouch and picked out the red phone.
"The Cheerphone is what every Cheertopian uses. However, for a Catgirl Cheerleader, this is also used as a device for transforming. It can also send IMs and texts from Queen Spectrum or anyone else on Earth. Oh, and it can also take pictures and have really cool applications.", Rubia explains. "Like what?" "Like CheerTunes, a place where you can listen to music and CheerTube, a place where you can make videos with the built-in webcam that's already installed into this phone." "That's so cool!", Jade said, looking impressed. All of a sudden, there was a knock on the door.
It's Jessie! What am I going to do?, Jade panicked to herself. She didn't want to tell Jessie that she went to a unknown place and met a queen who chose her to be captain of a magical cheer squad. "I almost forgot. Mascots can turn into either two things, a human or a cat. Which one do you want me to transform into?", Rubia asked. "A cat. Quickly!", Jade replied. So, Rubia clapped her hands and surprisingly, she transformed into a orange tabby cat with a red bow on her tail and hid under Jade's bed.
Instantly, Jessie opened the door. "Hey, sister. How was your day?", she asked. "Not so good. I had some embarrassing situations at school.", Jade replied. "Well, I just wanted to tell you that dinner will be ready in about 23 minutes." "OK, Jessie." After Jessie left, Jade told Rubia to come out from under the bed. Rubia turned back into her fairy form and said, "It was very dark under your bed, Jade." "Sorry, Rubia. Anyway, back to this Cheerphone. How do you turn it on?", Jade asked. "Um, hello? It has a power button." "Oh, I forgot.", Jade said, looking a little embarrassed. So, she turned on the phone when suddenly, it sparkles a red light. "That's what happens when you turn it on.", Rubia indicated.
The Cheerphone had a lot of cute icons, but there was one icon that was in the middle. The icon had a cute cat on it and beneath the cat, it said, "Transformation". Another icon had a little music symbol and underneath it, it said, "CheerTunes".
"This phone is so cool!", Jade declares. Just then, another knock on her door interrupts her cool new phone. "Rubia, I want you to transform into a human.", Jade ordered Rubia. "Ok, Jade. As you wish.", Rubia says. Clapping her hands, she changes into a regular human girl. Even though Rubia was human, she still had on her outfit when she was a mascot.
Just then, Jessie came in and opened the door. "Mom told me to tell you that dinner is ready. Who's this?", she asked, seeing Rubia. "This is my new friend, Rubia. We met at lunch and she wanted to know what it's like having dinner at my house.", Jade lied. She didn't want to tell her older sister that her "new friend" was really a mascot fairy. "Why is she wearing a cheerleaders costume with cat ears and a cat tail?", Jessie asked. "Well, she wants to be a cheerleader when she grows up and she was just playing dress up. Right, Rubia?" "That's right, Jade. I'm so happy to be here with my new friend!", Rubia exclaims. With a friendly look on her face, she follows Jade and Jessie into the dining room.
As soon as they get to the table, Rubia had a sparkling glint in her eyes when she saw all of the mouth-watering food. There was a basket full of breadsticks, salad bowls, a fresh homemade pizza and a whole bunch of pastries such as doughnuts, cookies and eclairs, Jade's favorite. "Well, you guys, dig in!", Mrs. Kazi said. Everyone began eating, especially Rubia. She had never had this food before and it was her first time eating regular food as a human girl.
"This food is so good!", Rubia exclaimed, with her mouth full of pizza. "I know. My mom went to a fancy cooking school in Paris before she had Jessie and me.", Jade said. "That's why she opened the Kazi Cafe. Right, Mom?" "That's right, my pumpkin. It's been 5 years since the cafe opened up.", Mrs. Kazi said. "And now, It's the talk of the town. Anyway, let's talk about what you did at school, Jade." Jade panicked because she didn't want to talk about the bad grade she got in class.
She was about to tell her about it, when suddenly, Rubia gasped. "What's wrong?", Jade asked. "I need to talk to you, in private.", Rubia said. So, Jade asked her mom if she could be excused from the table and then, after leaving the table and going to Jade's bedroom, Rubia changed back into mascot form. "What's the problem?", Jade asked. "I sense that there are Ferries coming.", Rubia replied. "Go! Get your Cheerphone and go outside!" So, Jade got her Cheerphone, went out of her window and ran to a nearby street. "You have to transform first!", Rubia exclaimed. "I'll transform later when I see these Ferries.", Jade said. Suddenly, she saw three girls with raven dark hair and purple cheerleader outfits approaching her. Jade knew
what to do, but will it be the right choice?
