Sassy's Summer Movie Reivews

Ok,  so it's been a while since I blogged and the reason why is because I've been going to this really cool school called the Institute Of Positive Learning (IPL for short). IPL has been a great experience for me because I did some really mathematical stuff such as going on a pontoon boat ride at The Fountain Of Youth at  Ponce Deleon Springs, Florida, and making my own pancakes at the Sugar Mill  there at the springs, I also made some new friends along the way! One of the coolest things that we have been doing is going to the local movie theater every Wednesday and seeing  movies that are super radical! The three movies that I've enjoyed most are about a Great Dane fitting-in in California, a little girl with a spunky, yet annoying spirit, and a nanny who has magical powers. These flicks are at the top of my list. Read the three reviews on the movies I've seen below. 

1. Nanny McPhee Returns 

This is a sequel to the first Nanny Mcphee movie (which I haven't seen before). This movie stars Emma Thompson as Nanny McPhee. This movie is about a bunch of corrupt and spoiled little children who change through Nanny McPhee's 5 lessons(and a little bit of magic from her cane!). From synchronized swimming pigs, to flying cars, this movie is something you'll enjoy for your whole family.  My Rating: 10/10

2. Ramona and Beezus

This movie is based on the book by Beverly Cleary, and it stars Selena Gomez as Beezus and Joey King as Ramona. It's about a 9 year old girl named Ramona and she has a lot of crazy ideas to help her family save their house. From going on a peanut butter commercial, to helping her aunt get married to her ex-boyfriend, to embarrassing her big sis Beezus, Ramona is a one of a kind, spunky pest that you have to love!  

I love Selena Gomez playing the part of the big sister Beezus, but the main character Ramona is a really cool character because even though she's a pest, she has a very spunky imagination! Move over, Junie B. Jones! Because Ramona Quimby is in the house! My Rating: 10/10

3. Marmaduke

This movie may have been based on a comic strip in the Sunday paper (I never read the paper.), but between Jake from Adventure Time and this Great Dane, I would choose Marmaduke as the greatest talking dog in the canine entertainment industry (sorry, Jake!).

 

This movie is all about a Great Dane named Marmaduke and his human family that  moves from Kansas to California and  his adventures in fitting in this snooty dog park, getting the dog of his dreams to notice him and have exciting dance numbers!

Sure, this movie may have a lot of bullying and gross humor, but it has a lesson about fitting in and family. My favorite part of the movie is when Marmaduke enters a surf contest and defeats the champion! I also discovered that the teenage daughter in the movie is played by Caroline Sunshine (you know, Tinka from Shake It Up!) and some other well known celebs such as George Lopez (who voiced the cat) and Fergie(from the Black Eyed Peas) who voiced Marmaduke's crush are in this great family comedy film!  My Rating: 10/10
